🔵  COMMENT by Peter Švec from ICEJ Slovakia: Chancellor Scholz said in a phone call with Prime Minister Netanyahu that “he should conclude a deal on a ceasefire and the release of hostages held by Hamas.“ Wrong recipient. Such words belong to Hamas! On 7 October, it brutally murdered 1 200 people, and 115 of those kidnapped are still missing. In this situation, the German Chancellor should have declared his unconditional support for the Jewish State in its defence against the darkness of militant Islam. And then, just a few hours later, Sinwar bluntly announces to the world that he refuses to participate in the hostage negotiations.

And one more thing, the ceasefire is not a condition for the release of the kidnapped. It is just the opposite – when the kidnapped are released, there will be a ceasefire, probably the end of the war. Israel did not need it, nor does it need it.

Today is the Jewish holiday of Tisha B’Av. It is a day of mourning for the many disasters that have befallen the Jewish people, including the destruction of the two Jerusalem temples. Today it is Iran that cannot resist the temptation to destroy the „Zionist entity“. Encouragingly, Israel is being aided by the massive military might of the USA, the UK, partly by France, but also by a number of Sunni states. It would be a disaster not only for Israel but also for us if, after all this, Iran were left with a nuclear weapon within its grasp.
